We’re pleased to announce that we just brought pet gear onto Kaufmann Mercantile so that you can discover and shop high-quality, timeless goods for both you and your pup. After all, slow living isn’t complete for many of us without our furry friends — they should be well-equipped for life's adventures too.
When carefully selecting brands to first introduce this new category for us, we searched for independent makers across the U.S. and abroad who stand proud behind values that reflect our own. Whether they’re passionate about sustainability and craftsmanship, or are dedicated to helping homeless pets in need, each of our featured brands works towards an honorable purpose. So, as we're welcoming pet gear to our collection, meet three thoughtful brands you really just have to meet.
Established in 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia, Little Donkey Supply Co. believes that the bond between a human and his or her pet is one of life’s greatest treasures — a notion we fully stand behind. They create natural, earth-friendly pet products designed to express an appreciation of this gift. They love and respect all animals as well as the planet we share, thus utilizing thoughtfully selected natural materials that don’t harm the environment or any animals in the process. What’s more, is that they regularly volunteer at local shelters while donating 10% of all proceeds to helping animals in need and promoting the rescue of homeless pets.
Check out their sister project Faces of Rescue, a collaboration with the team at Sydney Hale Co. to celebrate rescued dogs and the incredible people who do the rescuing.
Meet Little Donkey Supply Co.'s founder Kate Ely, along with her rescue pups Olive and Otis.
band&rolll was born from the founders Roman and Alona wanting to bring their passions together: love for each other and animals, family, good design, and the chance to work with their hands. Given these inspirations, you can always count on the highest quality products for both humans and pets. Their work beautifully merges simplicity and elegance, which shines through everything from their phone sleeves and laptop cases to their collars and leashes. The traditional craftsmanship they offer sets a strong example for the quality that we aim to surround ourselves with daily.
We appreciate that each of their top-notch pet products are handcrafted in their family workshop in Berlin, Germany, and they donate 5% of each order to animal shelters worldwide.
With an ethos of slow fashion and buying less but better, Seldom Found is a small UK-based company led by Cheryl Sykes that focuses on a more sustainable, eco-concerned, and personal approach to slow-made goods. Using age-old artisan techniques, they create sustainable products for your hound and home with a modern approach to design.
Each piece is handmade to order using the finest materials — hand-cut and crafted by one single person without the use of machinery — and always features a keen eye for details.
